South Elgin, Illinois

Project Goal:

To provide all design, engineering and construction work required for the development of a 14,000 S.F. free-standing Retail Drug Store for the Walgreens Corporation, including all site improvements.

Commentary:

This Walgreens store represents the first prototype of its kind in the Walgreens drug store chain. UISC was responsible for the design, working drawings and construction of this new prototype. The new design features a brick and E.I.F.S. exterior with a two-story, glass tower that has become the signature for these new stores.

Through various property development groups, UISC has been commissioned for several Walgreens modeled after this prototype. Walgreens has placed UISC on their short list of recommended contractors supplied to developers for proposed future stores for the Walgreens Corporation.
